This exquisite 9ct yellow gold vintage charm is a beautifully crafted and fully articulated piece, dating back to 1959. Designed to open, it houses a miniature playing cards deck, adding a delightful and whimsical touch to its intricate design. The hinge is in pristine condition, allowing for smooth movement when revealing the hidden treasure inside.
The front features a finely enamelled depiction of a fanned-out set of playing cards, with red hearts and black spades, adding a striking contrast against the warm gold. The enamel work remains partially complete.
Bearing full British hallmarks from the London Assay Office, including the date stamp 'd' for 1959, this charm is an authentic piece of mid-century craftsmanship.

Condition: The gold remains warm and bright with light wear and tear commensurate with age. The 'deck of cards' original cellophane wrapper is still partially on the cards. Displayed card (king) has the cellophane wrapper over it & it appears to have adhered slightly to the card. The hinged door remains nice and secure with a good closure.
